Mute Math - Goodbye

You don’t have to try
Running from each other
I read your eyes
You don’t have to bother
Maybe we’ll survive
If we don’t discover
One life ties to another

Cause the world won’t turn
If the sun won’t rise
And the stars won’t burn
In a broken sky

And the wind won’t surf
If the ocean’s dry
And my heart won’t work
If you say goodbye

If you say goodbye
If you say goodbye
If you say goodbye
My heart’s in trouble

I’d rather die
Holding one another
Your hand in mine
It’s easy and it’s not for
Understanding why
The world is out of color
One life ties to another

Cause the world won’t turn
If the sun won’t rise
And the stars won’t burn
In a broken sky

And the wind won’t surf
If the ocean’s dry
And my heart won’t work
If you say goodbye

If you say goodbye
If you say goodbye
If you say goodbye
My heart’s in trouble

Oh, if you say goodbye
If you say goodbye
If you say goodbye
My heart’s in trouble

Oh, before it never mattered at all
Oh, before it never mattered at all
Oh, oh, oh…

Cause the world won’t turn
If the sun won’t rise
And my heart won’t work
If you say goodbye

If you say goodbye
If you say goodbye
If you say goodbye
My heart’s in trouble

Ode to the Kia…my best friend.

Sometimes, I feel like my car is my best friend.

Don’t get me wrong, I have real friends. Living, breathing, amazing friends…but there’s just something about my Kia.

I went through almost my entire high school and college career without a car, and after finally getting one, I appreciate it more than ever.

It’s an amazing feeling to be walking back from somewhere and know my car will always be there. He (yes, my car is a He…) sits and he waits patiently for me all day or all night, through rain, heat, snow, wind, muddy parking lots, bird droppings, and more. He is there for me through and through.

Maybe it’s because I’ve never had a pet and my car is the closest thing to it. He is always there for me, and doesn’t judge or say anything but the hum of his engine and the other funny sounds he makes.

Some people make fun of Kias, and say they have a bad rap. One of my friends even jokes when I tell him to lock my doors, that no one would actually even want to steal my car.

Personally, I love my Kia. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I don’t care that he doesn’t have power locks or windows, and he doesn’t care that I have drama in my life or mud on my shoes. It’s a mutual respect kind of thing, which nowadays can be especially hard to find amongst people.

At the end of the day, it’s nice to have that little something to come back to. Something that gets me from point A to point B and knows how to keep me cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and play my music without making me change the track or the station.

I know this all sounds stupid, but I was just thinking about it the other day, and really realized it, and how important one big lump of metal or whatever my car is made of could be to me. I have only had this car a few months, but it’s seen me laugh, cry, sing, DD, park oddly, and hit curbs.

I love you Kia Craperia. I may make fun of you and call you silly names, but you know your keys start the ignition to my heart. :-D

Hello to anyone reading this!

I am writing this for a really good cause! One of my best friends put together a video for a contest in order to raise $5,000 for Relay for Life to go toward Cancer research. The video that gets the most hits will win the money to donate from their Relay for Life team. The video was to involve as many people wearing purple gloves as possible, as part of the “Purple Glove Dance”. There was a LOT of hard work put into this and if you can go to this video and share it if you can, that would be amazing! It is a great video and it shares a great message! I was literally tearing up halfway in!

I love it when….

I finally get my binder organized with dividers and empty out the overstuffed side pockets.

It only took me a month and a half into the semester.

Promise I’m organized. Just in a different way than you are. :-)

ask me anything... :-)

Lights is absolutely amazing.

I saw her on tour with Owl City & Deas Veil in Athens last weekend (when my 2 friends and I showed up to the sold-out-for-months show ticketless & miraculously made our way in) and will be seeing them again in April in Atlanta because we knew to buy ahead BEFORE they sold out.

She is so sweet, and has (to be cliche), the “voice of an angel”.

If you enjoy this song, check out “Lions” and “Second Go” — both my favorites!
